Alcalaten Ceramica adventure began in 1987, and although it may sound bohemian, at that time Alcalaten Ceramica were firmly convinced to combine inspiration and dedication with technology and design, and to stop selling a simple product and instead, to sell an authentic work of art. Alcalaten Ceramica dream was ambitious, but since then Alcalaten Ceramica have tried it and from time to time we think we succeeded. Alcalaten Ceramica product has evolved considerably since we produced the first tile. Up until a few years ago, we manufactured rustic material in red paste. Now Alcalaten Ceramica have incorporated new materials such as porcelain or white paste, trying to maintain the same quality as always and serving the public interested in avant-garde design and different from the rest. Although some things have changed, there is one thing that has remained with us from the beginning: the obsession with the latest technology for the production and management of our materials. The EAN bar codes or the printers of digital injection are some examples. At Alcalaten Ceramica we take great care to reduce our environmental footprint. We respect the legal limits and use filters to control all discharge. Alcalaten Ceramica have managed to recycle 100% of the water used in our facilities and we filter the juices that come out of the machines, to avoid acid emissions, such as the air from the ovens not emittig solid particles into the atmosphere. Alcalaten Ceramica also filter out oils and then collect them for submission for appropriate processing. In addition to neutralizing all the harmful elements involved in ceramics production, we manage the containers according to the Ecoembes regulations and recommendations, from design until recovery when its useful life finishes. Up until now it appears that Alcalaten Ceramica are doing well, and in recognition of this effort, we have recently been winners of the Ecofira Prize in the atmosphere-air catgeory by the application of an acid contaminants purification system in the emissions of our oven of rollers.
